F.E.A.R looks like the best out of the big hitters

Just played Crysis, FEAR, Bioshock and GR:AW demos, i thought that FEAR looked/played the best of them.. Best controls, and i thought the graphics actually looked the best, definately best models, and the surfaces were very shiny and realistic, not that the others weren't though. Bioshock is like Clive bakers undying with hyped graphics/effects.... It's amazing how programers can program the hardware to do some of those things, especially in Bioshock... Overall all these games are still pretty boring to play though yeah...? They still don't have the atomosphere of story line that GTAIII and Mafia did IMO or some old school games..... F.E.A.R looks like the best out of the big hitters

As awesome as FEAR was, it certainly looked dated and the game was looked very dull with so many similar corridors.F.E.A.R looks like the best out of the big hitters
Little wonder. If you have the hardware you should definitely crank it up to high, and you'll see a world of difference between medium and high. And I don't think I should explain the eye candy of very high DX10.
F.E.A.R doesn't look anywhere near as good as Crysis in any way, and I'm not sure what you mean by 'best controls'.F.E.A.R is an awesome game to be sure, one of the best shooters of all time (and certainly the best AI when you balance quality against glitches, since Crysis' and S.T.A.L.K.E.R's AI both have crazy glitches), but don't discount Crysis. It is also awesome.hedgehogenstein is extremely confused by your mentioning of controls. How can one FPS control better than another when they use the same basic control concept?
As shalas said, Crysis past Medium is a whole new game, graphics wise :P
must be joking, becasue no one in theri right mind believes that nonsense. That game has terrible level design, all industrial very cramped levels look identical, AI is good, but has very small path to naviggate, cryssi AI has to navigate huge maps. Graphics well, no contest there. Fear was OK, anyone who thinks it is one of the best shooters is out of their mind.
Crysis is the best out of those games. I didn't like GRAW at all and FEAR is just an average shooter that thinks it is scary, it's fun for only one reason, the AI is pretty good and killing them is fun, but the horror elements that it promissed aren't there.
ya FEAR would look better at that resolution and detail tbh.And I kind of agree, FEAR had a perfect feel to it...the controls, the aiming...it just seemed perfectly tuned. I admit there are some times when in Crysis the suit were easier to control but damn, its still the best shooter ever created.
Crysis whoops FEAR's arse in the graphics department.

The bullet tracers ad bullet impact and bullet physics is better than Crysis, overall you could argue Crysis is the better game, but for me the feel of FEAR was very nice, also the CTRL thing, kind of bullettime is very cool.

It's good, but it would be even better if Warhead had a sanbox editor released.
I think F.E.A.R. has the best AI and most intense firefights ever..The damage and bullet impact is great..The reactions and radio chatter of the replicants is awesome too, especially when your ripping through them and you hear ''I need backup..NOW!!!!''F.E.A.R.'s graphics are great but I also think Crysis,Bioshock, and STALKER have amazing graphics and gameplay too.
I also liked FEAR the most out of all of those titles, but Crysis' graphics are far superior. The open world and shrubbery takes up a lot more performance and looks better in my opinion than the corridors in FEAR.
Meh. Both have generic settings as nice as they might look. FEAR does look pretty amazing still if you crank it up high with AA4X on.

Of courseI take it you'll be critiquing every posts I make - but you know what? You're right! I've only played the demo! How dare I declare than an island not be regarded as a generic setting that has been done before! Bad Loser! Badd!!The point I was making was that as an Island setting it does not have as much imagination as the decorative art of say Bioshock or maybe Thief.
