Fallout 1 vs. Fallout 2

Having never played either of these games yet, i'm wondering which one is better, and which one i should get?Its odd that i havent played them yet since i've played all the other old school black isle RPG's. and since i dont think my PC can handle fallout 3, any reccomendations on which one of the originals is better would be sweet! Fallout 1 vs. Fallout 2
Get both, but Fallout 2 is IMO better. Crap first level though, don't judge the game based on it!Fallout 1 vs. Fallout 2
Yeah its interesting how brutally hard the oldschool rpgs were like fallout 1+2 and baldur's Gate 1+2 compared to today's rpgs.
Just have in mind that is a turn based combat system on both.I enjoyed both, but the 2nd one is pretty impressive
I prefer the first one. They're both extremely good, but the second one starts incredibly slow.
Fallout 1 is currently free on GameTap, so definately just give it a try.
Fallout 2 is the better of the two games. The original Fallout was great, but they stuck a pretty severe time constraint on you which really prevented you from going off the main storyline and exploring too much.

[/QUOTE] This was fixed really. And their really wasen't much to explore if you ask me. The game gave you 500 days which was more then enough. the patch buffed it to 13 years.
Free on gametap? Nice to know. Ima go try it out now. Thanks
You should get both and play them in order.

And I'd definitely get the GOG version of Fallout 1 even though it's free on GameTap.
I think they're BOTH free on gametap, so get them both, but I prefered Fallout 2

I love both. They are great.

But GameTap has two major issues: it doesn't support 64-bit Vista and it doesn't allow mods.

I know it dosen't allow mods but I never really played Fallout for the mods to begin with. Also the I think theirs a fix for the 64 bit problem.
Both great games...but choosing...i say FO2

A simple resolution fix can do wonders to Fallout.

Are Fallout 1 and 2 connected? Like plot-wise? Would it be neccessary to play the first one before the second one?
