Deus Ex sequel confirmed

Well there have been rumors, and now it%26#39;s actually official . I really wonder how the Montreal studio will be able to revive the franchise. Deus Ex sequel confirmed
I hope it follows the story of JC, and it is literally a ''sequel'' of the first and not of the second. Great news either way. :)Deus Ex sequel confirmed
WishI could get excited about this, but I can%26#39;t.  The last Deus Ex game was a turd and it sounds like Warren Spector has zero input on this new one.  In other words, this just sounds like a cash in on a preexisting franchise.
This is great news.  I%26#39;m a little uncertain on how I feel about following the original story... I think it might be pretty interesting if they keep to a similar world but follow a new path rather than a direct sequel.  There%26#39;s only so much you can tell in the story, considering all the endings and how significant they were in the change of the world. And unlike others, I remain highly optimistic.  I really don%26#39;t care for sequels that follow the exact same formula s the predecessors, but rather re-interpret the formula.  This is probably why I liked Invisible War so much and am looking forward to this next installment.
I would love a another Deus Ex game. The second one was a little bit of a disappointment, but maybe that was just because the first one set such a high standard.
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am actually excited about this. I really hope that they continue the series with JC Denton as the playable character.
Interesting...
Awesome!  I am interested in seeing what they will come up with.Oh...  And monco59...  That is an awesome pic.  ''Shop smart.  Shop S-Mart.''  :P
awesome news onemic.thnks for the link.:)

as a major Deus Ex fan I%26#39;m not happy about this. The story was complete, if they want to make a decent sequel it would need atleast 3 different campaigns all based on different endings. They should also neglect everything from Invisible wars.

Basically Warren told him he wanted to be shocked. When you give an artist too much freedom **** happens.Be happy we are getting a sequel. 30-40 man strong team with an engine that will not make the same mistakes again. This is not a cash cow. A cash cow would of already had a game. Deus Ex 3 will be the blockbuster it was destined to be!
They should also neglect everything from Invisible wars.
I totally agree with you there.  DX:IW felt like the trial run before making the proper game rather than the sequel to the original game, ditching many of the elements that gave depth to the gameplay in the original Deus Ex.  The original outshines DX:IW in nearly every respect other than the graphics and AI.  In addition, DX:IW was supposed to be set after %26#39;the collapse%26#39;...but I felt it was utterly unconvincing in that respect. If they are going to make Deux Ex 3, then I really hope the devs use the original game as a template to work from, and include all of the following...1. Expansive and complex level design.  The original had some really great open-ended level design, whereas in DX:IW I felt like I was trapped in a shoebox all of the time.  Level loading every five seconds just to go from one floor to the next was ridiculous on the PC version.2. Lasting consequences to decisions and actions - not %26#39;let%26#39;s all kiss and hug if you do this quest for us%26#39; malarky.  The idea of joining a faction was great in theory, but in practice it was just a mess in DX:IW because you could be forgiven every five minutes.3. Skills.  Let%26#39;s have the skills system back in some form, so you at least feel like your character is developing over time, and specialising in certain areas - rather than simply swapping biomods in and out to become a jack of all trades.4. No more %26#39;unified ammo%26#39;.  This stupid idea could have been overcome by making all weapons %26#39;energy%26#39; weapons so you can just power them up - instead of making every bullet fit every gun. *sigh*5. Better interactions with NPCs, where the comments you choose have a lasting effect.6. Proper hacking into systems.  No more magic glow-wand effects for multi-tools.  No more disposable multi-tools - one tool should be adequate for all locks, but just make it take longer to hack harder systems.  There%26#39;s also the opportunity for adding upgrades to your multi-tool as you go along to make it more efficient.  That was a completely missed opportunity in DX:IW.7. Realistic toned down rag doll effects.  Tossing people miles up in the air and seeing them bend all over the place like rubber bands really hurt immersion in DX:IW.8. Player body.  It would be good to look down and see your actual body this time around.9. Decent inventory system with proper restrictions on what you can carry.Just improve on the original Deus Ex (that doesn%26#39;t mean streamline it to death like DX:IW so it loses all depth).
Wow.. just WOW. I never got to play Deus Ex, but heard great thing about it. Woo!
Do we have any evidence that proves otherwise?  Right now all we know is that the last attempt to make a sequal to Deus Ex was a disaster.  The burden is now on these new devs to succeed where Invisible War failed, so excuse me if I sound a bit cynical.

To me this is good news though because it gives them the chance to do all of this stuff right.
for all you guys know, it won%26#39;t be a pc game. they haven%26#39;t even announced a platform yet. so all these dreams about this being the ''the pc game that DXIW wasn%26#39;t'' may go nowhere.

Sorry but you would have to be a moron to think that it will not come to the PC.
