PC's worst games

What are your thoughts on the pc's worst games, i mean which are the worst games that were highly anticipated but died cos of crap gameplay or crap control methods and so on. I played dead space and i have to say, what a piece of crap!! control method is aweful and your character is so close that you cant see none of the brilliant art work that decorates the levels, nor can you see the aliens when they attack from below. Beautiful gfx but made by complete morons who cant see an obvious problem. Obvious gameplay issues are so obvious sometimes it makes you wonder is this a problem with game makers these days do they lack the common sense braincell??PC's worst games
common sense braincell??
I think it's actually a gene =PPC's worst games
and your character is so close that you cant see none of the brilliant art work that decorates the levels, nor can you see the aliens when they attack from below. Beautiful gfx but made by complete morons who cant see an obvious problem.
it's not an 'obvious problem', it's a deliberate design decision, and a good one. It creates a strong sense of claustrophobia and makes you feel vulnerable, which is a fundamental aspect of horror. It's like the Doom 3 see-or-shoot thing, only less dumb. Many classic horror games restrict your visibility, usually through darkness. Silent Hill, Aliens vs Predator... even System Shock 2, which doesn't use darkness much, uses narrow corridors and constant junctions so you can never see too far ahead. Limiting visibility is a horror staple. And even if you can't see the enemy, Isaac's heart starts thumping when it's nearby, so you always know if there's an enemy around.
Farcry 2, didn't deliver on half of what was promised and its online 'match making service' is a joke. If you want more than just this year though I could right a book.

Actually, I like what Dead Space did. It makes it more dramatic.. If your character was too far away from your view, you would be able to see everything.. and that will take away from the suspense, and atmospheric qualities of the game. They chose that for a reason and I love it. It gives you that survival-horror feel. If you don't like it.. go play Silent Hill or something. I happen to think they did an excellent job. But I do agree that the controls need work. Trying to save your life, with medikits is a pain in the butt. You have to pull out the inventory menu.. while running and gunning aliens. It's no joke. I understand they want the screen to be clear of any UI interface, which I really think is great.. but there should at least be a hotkey for the medikits. Speaking of controls, the mouse is floaty like some reviews reported. With or without Vsync, it's pretty much the same. Even with triple buffering. I found no difference, whatsoever. It's playable but trying to do a 180 or 360 degree turn is a pain. Tonight, I'll try it out with my 360 controller and see how it goes. I think it was designed with consoles in mind. Perhaps, another PC port, with better graphics, once again..Resident Evil 4 anyone? *cough cough*Dead Space is by far my favorite survival horror action shooter, since RE4. I rate it a 9.0/10. I love the story, characters, and it has great voice acting. If you play with closed headphones, I think you will get the best out of the sound effects, which are top-notch. As great as your surround sound may be.. it does not compare to the direct sound with closed headphones. Turn it up, and be prepared to get startled.. not scared, but startled.. in a good way. Turn the lights off too for extra kicks. Like I said, the camera angle, character perspective, point of view, that's how it's suppose to be. Visibility is limited for a reason. To make you feel almost claustrophobic to your environment. It's a survival horror game. Personally, I love it. Great game. It is far from being crap. No way.
ehhhhhh... try pressing Q for a medkit...
do they lack the common sense braincell??
maybe that's the problem. maybe they only have ONE common sense brain cell.
Wait, you went through the whole game healing like that? Wow! There's a hotbutton for healing, dude.
Speaking of controls, the mouse is floaty like some reviews reported. Because that is not how the game was designed. Drop aim mode and, at least for me, mouselook is extremely smooth. Aiming is perfectly smooth too, but turning in aim mode is definitely not what the designers intended.
Dead Space is by far my favorite survival horror action shooter, since RE4.
Same, but I actually think it's way better than RE4. The gunplay is stronger, the horror (while not great) is far more acute and the story %26 writing is a billion times better, even if it's not even slightly original.
I thought you were describing Far Cry 2 then I read Dead Space and I was like ''WHAT?!?''Anyways, you're entitled to an opinion, but I must say that1. Enemies never attack from below. And if you can't see an enemy, all you have to do is rotate the camera (GASP! NO! LIES!) 2. It's a TPS... Use common sense. You're character is going to block some of the view. Not to mention this ''crappy'' third person view actualy lets you see enemies that within melee range of you in any direction...3. There are no gameplay issues...4. Camera controls are fine. It's a survival horror, not a quake 5 in space.5. It's a surivival horror. Not knowing where the enemy is, but being able to hear them = horror, fear, etc. Considering all the awesome reviews it's getting, it's not an ''Obvious gameplay issue.''
Worst PC game ever is...GNOP. Partly because it was developed for the Mac and partly because it was a rerelease of Pong.
Dunno about worst, but my biggest letdowns are:Master of Orion III,Star Wars: RebellionMorrowind. All bad games outright made worse because they failed to live up to expectations.
Oblivion let me down more than any other game. Therefore, I declare it to be crap.
I haven't played that many games that I'd consider bad. The only one that I played that I could genuinely consider bad is Assassin's Creed and Football Mogul 2003. And Fallout 3 might make the list, if something doesn't convince me otherwise in the next few hours that I play the game.
Mmm out of the games i currently own I would have to say Soldier of fortune payback is the worst game I have ever played for the PC. Splinter cell double agent was pretty bad, felt like a bad port job (I think it was but not sure).
Bloodrayne sucked ass.
Big Rigs by faaaaaar. The game just wasn't playable.
Farcry 2, didn't deliver on half of what was promised and its online 'match making service' is a joke. If you want more than just this year though I could right a book.
I think its pretty darn good actually. And for $35 I don't regret gettin it one bit.
Well there's no question about it...Big Rigs. That actually reminds me...they're making a Big Rigs 2 lol YOU'RE WINNER!
