Post your picks for most underrataed and overrated games of all time, along with your reason for choosing, and it would be really nice if you added the score on GS, and what you think the score should have been. Example, also my entry: Overrated: Far Cry 2 (PC) (No matter how good the engine, i couldn't get over the dialog of this game. it was so bad i had to turn it off, not to mention this game had worse graphics than crysis and it played with half the framerate, the only thing i could actually play without metaphorically vomitting was the map editor, which was actually quite intuitive.)Score on GS: 8.5Score (IMO) it should have gotten: 7.0Underrated: Advent : Rising (PC) (This game had a decent story, with alot decent gameplay. I will be honest, it isn't an AAA title, but a 6.2 is a little overkil for this game. i feel like (gamespot) just took the review of the Xbox version of advent, and said, yea, it has no control problems. when honestly, the game isnt half bad.)Score on GS: 6.3 Score (IMO) it should have gotten: 7.5 most underrated and Overrated PC games
Your reasons for disliking FC2 are crap. FC2 is much better-optimized than Crysis, despite not having better graphics at max settings. Also, FC2's dialogue was delivered clearly and quickly, so you wouldn't get bored.I think Rise and Fall: Civilizations at War and FC2 are underrated.most underrated and Overrated PC games

I agree that FC2 gets too much hate-I quite enjoyed it, ignoring the few (gameplay) issues with it. I think 8.5 is about right, IMO.
Overrated? Dawn of War. I liked it a fair bit, but I played CoH first, so that ruined it for me :(.

OverratedCrysis - Great graphics, but just another shooter at the end of the day. Merge Crysis's general gameplay formula with the scale of FC2 or even STALKER and it'd at least be closer to the perfect shooter. Bioshock - Everything was great, but the shooting felt dull and the ending(s) didn't make the ''choices'' all that satisfying.TF2 - Somehow not appealing to me. I'm more of a CS player, but TF2 just didn't impress me. Good thing this was included in the Orange Box. I would have been even more disappointed if I bought this seperately.Underrated:STALKER - Buggy as hell, but it's great for a non-linear shooter (despite how it was just a bunch of areas linked together). Great concept that can easily be improved upon.Jedi Academy - SP may not be good as JO's, but the mutliplayer is surprisingly good and all this time it has been the only proper way to have an online saber duel. Stronghold: Crusader - This RTS kept things simple with warfare and economy management and the intuitive castle-building system encouraged creativity and made sieges very interesting.RE4 - The controls were fundementally broken to the point where I'd rather just settle with the GC version, but a gamepad made it every bit as enjoyable as the other versions (even with pre-rendered cutscenes that were blurry as all hell) Eternal Fighter Zero - Good 2D fighter, and a cute one at that.Audiosurf - Ride your music. I'll just keep it at that. BF2142 (in comparison to BF2) - Great customization system and the general BF formula made it fun. Even if there was less focus on vehicular combat, I still prefer it over BF2.
I'd say Psychonauts for the most underrated.
Overrated = Crysis.
It's is a very pretty game, but like certain women the pretty looks go hand in hand with being shallow.
The story is decent and only gets exciting at the end inwhich it suddenly stops, there are several glitches in the game that are fatal such as throwing a soldier up into the air is basically russian roulette as most of the time you would fly with it and die. The voice acting is decent, overall sound is good but with such a flimsy story which stops just when it gets interesting, I don't see the massive hype over it personally. Underrated = StartopiaStartopia was created by Mucky Foot and is similar to the Simcity, Theme hospital and other games like that.The game's story is that you have been given the chance to transform a empty space station into a galactic trade, relaxation and entertainment center for a lot of alien races. The graphics are lower then todays standard but remarkably high for a game made in 2001, sounds are good and gameplay is both easy and difficult at times.
Bioshocks ending should have brought it down they were SO TERRIBLEHonestly, TF2 doesn't always agree with me I like it and then I don't, it's not like CSS or BF2 where I can play it any time and be happy but more like CoH and other RTS when I have to be in the 'mood' to play it....um...*Raises FLAME SHIELD* I...kinda think Sins is...okay...though I love stardock and really like playing there games it just doesn't Grab me like CoH or Galatic Civ2 did (or the witcher)Underrated: WITCHER should have been 10 I don't know how else to say this but it's probly my favorite game and it's rivaling my all time favorite KotOR, with great Dialouge, simple (yet intuative) combat and a amazing storyline this game got underscored. Though I will admit it does have crashing issues that come up at exactly the wrong time.
Overrated: Half-Life 2. Great game, just not at the very top of the genre like it is hyped to be.Underrated: I'll go for whole genres here, really. Adventure games, simulators, racing sims and indie games in general deserve more love.
Overrated = Crysis.
Crysis is easily in the top 3 single-player FPS when it comes to core gameplay. If it's shallow, then every other non-tactical FPS is shallow too.
Most Overrated: Oblivion. I haven't played all of it but psychic AI, repetitive combat, boring story and dull linear level design do not impress me. Damn you Sean Bean!!San Andreas: For those that know me you know I detest this game. Poor visuals, crap story, ridiculous difficulty levels, way too much filler/driving, lousy controls, awful AI. One of the most notorious and arguably worst side missions in another game ever. (Supply Lines). I will never understand the love for this game. Most Underrated:The Thief Series: One of the best main characters in a video game, awesome stories, setting and level design. I can't wait for the 4th game.Max Payne 2: No one bought it.
Only considering average scores Underrated : HoMM V especially expansion ToE, HoMM 3 Overarted : Oblivion, GTA 3, CoD 4, Bioshock, Civilization 4
Overrated: Bioshock. Yes, Bioshock is fun, but it's not as great as a lot of people make it out to be. It cannot compete with games like Call of Duty 4 and Half Life 2.Underrated: Halo. It's actually a fun game with an entertaining campaign and multiplayer. I don't know why so many people don't like it.

Over rated: Crysis, Far Cry, Far Cry 2Under rated: The Witcher (deinitely). I mean this game was absolutely epic in a lot of ways, and the support by the dev team (CD Projekt) was just something you don't see these days. These guys deserve a shoutout and their game deserves a ton more acclaim.

I don't know if I will ever get the full game. I want to like it!!
Underated- Riddick: escape from butcher bay, i loved that game. Um the witcher initially but yeah like someone said it's sold a million copies. Overrated- Crysis, far cry 2, fallout 3 (sort of), oblivion (although the amount of decent mods and overhauls makes up for it).
Most overrated game ever. Half-Life 2.*Runs away in fear*

My favourite thing to do is to pretend I'm in Matrix Reloaded on the highway :P
OVerrated : Mass EffectUnderrated : The Withcer
Underrated: Gothic 3 Overrated: Call Of Duty 4
